You are correct. I mistyped. It was 2004. Damn, that was a long time ago.

First saw my Janet at a Montgomery Chamber of Commerce networking gathering. She looked absolutely stunning. Most beautiful girl I'd ever seen. Ever. Period. Me being single and confident, I figured I'd at least get a number so I walked her to her car. The next sound I heard was anti-aircraft fire as I was shot down pretty quickly. (We laugh about that now!).

Over time,
I finally convinced her to go out to lunch a few times and then to dinner. We figured out that we actually grew up in the same town and went to the same high school (Prattville). She was 3 years ahead of me in school and got married early, so we never even met. Hell, we even lived in the same cul-de-sac in Montgomery but never met until that Chamber meeting.

At any rate, we dated a couple of years and then married a little over 3 years ago. She's a strong woman of God, smart, loves to hunt and fish, great mom and step-mom, my best friend and love of my life. Oh, and she's hot as six hells which ain't bad either!

Meet at court yard 280 she was at the bar playing one of those games with a split screen with a half naked women and you had to pick 5 things different in one of the pictures. I remember when the old Front Porch was a laundry mat.

I was there and so was my wife. She was my girlfriend at the time. We were high school sweethearts.

I was on a road trip for work inspecting my chain of hotels.
First saw her on the highway, we made eyes, she made herself plenty visible while I was at a rest stop for lunch.
We met later in the bar at one my hotels, ended up doing a little skinny dipping. The rest is history...

On 9/11/2001 at a comedy club just off base. Wasn't looking to meet anyone but we talked for a minute and that was that. Ran into her again about a month later, started dating shortly after and got married a little while after that. We've been married for over fifteen years and it seems like just yesterday and forever all at once.

We both worked at Walmart. I was the smart ass 18 yr old that knew everything and she was 22yrs old. We flirted for awhile and I finally talked her into going to Krystal's one night for lunch. We worked 3rd shift together so that was about the only option for lunch. We worked across the aisle from each other so those was fun times. She told me she could teach me a few things so I took her up on that! Been together 13 years now.

May, 1986. I was out with one of her friends on a double date. The girl seemed to have a bit of a silly side that didn't impress me very much.

We had stopped by this friends of her's house and my eyes met the eyes of this gorgeous 23yo brunette.

There was this kind of awkward silence for a minute or two. There was something there that never in my 20 years had I ever seen or felt before. It was an immediate connection. Call it love at first sight if you want to, but I was immediately smitten. As stupid as I know I had to appear to her, she had her eyes and smile fixed on mine too. That lasted for several seconds.

We were at her house for about 5 minutes without either of us saying a word to each other. Somehow before we left again I mustered up enough courage to speak. As the others were walking out the door, I knew it was now or never to say something clever. In my best trying to be cool voice I said, "I'll be back". She just smiled, but in my mind I was thinking, "Damnit, did I just say that? What a boneheaded moron %&*@# %&*@#".

Fast forward about two hours. We had been in my 68 mustang and now I had dropped everyone off. I was riding the roads thinking about Gorgeous. Very uncharacteristic of me, I took a chance and went back to her house. I was always more shy and reserved than that. The lights were on and I once again mustered up some courage and stopped. She was all grins when she came to the door and actually invited me in. We talked and laughed the rest of the night and I headed home just in time to get ready to go to work.

We started dating and married before the year was up. I believe we have a very happy marriage and plan to uphold "until death do us part".

1988. Room mate's girlfriend introduced me to a coworker. Three months later we were married. We're still married. I got lucky.

Come on home to Pappa. I've heard that story somewhere else before.
