The call could go either way. The ball wasn't in play, so she did have a right to go back and touch home plate but like previously stated, that should be a given to touch home plate. I believe once the ball is replaced an appeal can be made. I think they can celebrate after she touches, not as she touches or in this case comes to the plate. Regardless lesson was learned.

There's another version I saw last night where you can see the umpire telling the catcher something as he's handing her the ball. They state he gave the ball to the pitcher but in fact gave the ball to the catcher and she appealed.
