Midway had a blow out sale on the vortex viper earlier in the week 6-20-44 side focus for $299 which is a good deal if you want something with that much magnification. Yea,but I wouldn't want it for a general purpose scope. It might be fine for hunting over a huge field where you know most shots will be beyond 100 yards but it wouldn't be nearly as good in the woods as a simple 3X9.
