The "invading personal space" remark in the co-worker's thread got me thinking about this.

You're in a men's room with a bank of urinals. Four, six, 10 of them. No one else is in there and you're whizzin' away.

Guy walks in and stands right next to you. Multiple urinals and he stands next to you.

You pull into an empty parking lot and park. Scads of parking spaces. You're not even near the store but are maybe 8-10 or more spots away.

Someone pulls in and parks right next to you.

You go to a movie and the theatre's fairly empty. You (and family, or spouse/GF) pick a couple of seats. You're not in the middle and not on the fringe, but sorta in-between.

People come in and sit right behind or in front of you.

You go to a concert in the park in summer or a kids' sports/club event and sit in a spot. Lots of room to spread out or other bleacher seats available.

People come in and set up right beside you.

I've always figured it's in part because since pre-school and kindegarten we've been told-trained-indoctrinated to "line up, get in line" and people still have that same mentality.

Also, some people are just crazy.

I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

Or you are fishing a bank 500 yards long and a boat comes in on you.

I honestly think it would boil down to those folks' parents not teaching them to be considerate. Think about it.

Gregarious is a synonym for butthead with some folks.

Years ago I once pulled into an empty parking lot on my He side of a business. The parking lot in front had several cars but the lot in the side was completely empty, other than myself. There were about 40 spaces. Before I could even get out of my vehicle, a lady pulls in the same lot and is going to park none to nose to me. You guessed it. She hit me. As she pulled up to face me she never stopped and plowed right into my vehicle. This was definitely during my "pre-Jesus" days and I was not very nice about it.

I used to work with a guy who would walk into the bathroom, go into a stall to take a dump and would try and carry on a conversation with you while you were at a urinal about 12 feet away. AWKWARD. When I'm taking care of business, I want to keep my eyes on my fries. I'm not into having a conversation.

I went into the bathroom at Walmart. I see someone's feet in one of the stalls as I proceed to the urinal. As I'm doing my business this guy says "Whatcha doing?". I said to myself this ain't happening. Then again " Whatcha doing?". "Well, I'm pissing right now.". " Got a busy day?". Now I'm thinking just let me get through and get gone. A few more quick question and answers I was through and leaving I heard him say "let me call you back. Ever time I say something there is a guy answering in here."

Sorry, I was having trouble with two conversations at once.
