I have a gen 3 23. I never carry it or shoot it. Had I not gotten it as a Father's Day Gift, I would sell it.

I was at the Gadsden PD range one day to teach some firearms training. Glock rep drove up dragging two Glock 9mms on the road, tied to back bumper. He picked em up, walked to the firing line a emptied both of them. they were already chambered loaded and ready. Drop the Mic moment right there

We shot a loaded Glock 17 with 50 rounds of .22, tossed it out of a helicopter, dunked it in oil, then buried it in sand, then dug it up and fired it, shot it underwater...you name it. It NEVER went off when it wasn't supposed to, and ALWAYS went off when it was.

I have a Glock 22 found on the bottom of Eastlake parks lake. Springs were only bad part, they disintergrated when touched. Outside was encrusted badly, it had been in the lake a while. New springs and a magazine and it shot perfectly. I suspect not many guns would of done that. So they fired. Did anyone hit a target? I bought a Gen 1 Glock 17 and couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with it. I can hit targets of any shape or size with zero missfires with an XD all day. Just sayin.

I have one because my wife wanted it. It's a 26 with the factory competition trigger package, a trigger job and a+2 pearce magazine extension. I only dislike it, I don't hate it. I can hit things with it, it's just more difficult to do so than with most of my other pistols. It lives in her glove box with two 17 round backup magazines. An old model 60 j frame lives in a compartment of her purse.
The wife shoots it pretty well.

That's a great idea. Shooting Glocks. Maybe hang it on a limb and paint it red. Shoot it with my 308, for short range practice. Yeah I like that idea. You oughta at least use one of your single actions and turn the Glock so its facing away from you, making a smaller target. You can probably buy up a bunch of them that melted from someone leaving one in the sun too long. I think they are pretty cheap.

You can probably buy up a bunch of them that melted from someone leaving one in the sun too long. I think they are pretty cheap. Glock, like Mathews Bows, are good products for some people. But they're honestly no better than many other makes, they just got a better marketing strategy. I have no real bad beef with Glock, other than not being a fan of plastic. I just get real fired up when folks start talking about giving their wife (or any novice) a Glock pistol. There's far better and safer alternatives. Anyone who carries a duty weapon will attest to the benefit of repetition training. And many of those same folks understand what can happen to your brain in a panic situation. I encourage all wives and daughters to carry a weapon and practice with that weapon. But also choose a simple, no frills, DA snub nose. Just point & click simplicity, no thinking required. Its the smartest, safest and most effective choice.

That's EXACTLY what a Glock is...you have the simplicity and ease of use of a snub nose revolver, but with 2-3x the capacity (depending on model). Where does the snub nose have an advantage?

Some years back, my wife wanted a new Kimber short slide 45 because "it's so pretty". After trying (and failing) to explain why I didn't want her to have that, I went a different route. I unloaded her .38 S&W and waited until she was walking through the living room. I jumped from the hallway, threw her the S&W as I shoved her onto the couch. I hollered give me your wallet! Loud as I could, and then screamed hurry up bich! She was totally panicked and actually couldn't even remember how to work that simple little 38 revolver. After she got done crying, cussing (and kicking & slapping me) she finally calmed down and figured out what I had been trying to say. I apologized to her and later took her out for steak and margaritas just make up for being a total arse.
