The liquid is diluted upon application with water, so you are applying more than a gallon per acre. You have to look at the amount of available product not the mass of what you are applying. Two or three tons per acre is a lot more than a normal dose of fertilizer, but.nobody argues that it does not work.

I do not see where anybody said liquid was a no brainer. Bulk Ag lime is still cheaper and more bang for the buck, but as stated before, not everyone can get a spreader truck to their patches or have the means to handle a tow buggy. I have not done the math, but I suspect liquid is pretty competetive with bagged lime in price.
