Depends on how you are aiming. If you are just using a bead you are probably ok. If you are using a scope, then it might be a little high at 40. I'd shoot it and see.

I have a pro series magnum gobble dot...I shot it at 10, 20, and 30 and all was ok

IMO too many hunters screw with a setup that works far too often; not coming down on you, but every single tweak you make has an impact & if you're not willing to follow-through & test that impact w/several shots, just don't make the change until you have the time. You learned this the hard way, and educated the birds all at the same time.

Once I have a a setup that's working, man, I never jack with it b/c I want 100% confidence in the woods. I'd also say - don't be lured in by "more expensive XXX" ... An old timer turkey hunter I know still shoots his beat-up 835 Ulti-Mag w/the factory turkey choke & absolutely slays 'em... Find a setup that nails it at 30-40 yards & let it ride. [disclaimer: this is old skool philosophy, but sometimes old skool's the best skool]

Mobile Al,
I know it.. The tight wad wasn't grouping all that great, I didn't think it would throw it off that far honestly.

Man, both my shotguns have TightWads (have for years) and I can blow 'em down at 50 yards... What shells are you using? MagBlends work particular well w/both my guns w/TightWad chokes...

Mobile Al,
the orange tint to those reflex red dot sights, can turkeys see those???? When pointed at a target you can see the orange or red color in those things.
