Hearing a cald at night can be hair-raising, but I don't believe anyone ever has successfully recorded one. Perhaps this is what was being attempted with the microphones.

If the slab is open in the middle it was a feed trough. I have seen these troughs in Crenshaw county where they use to feed hogs in creek bottoms.

I have never seen one but the microphone has something to do with Bigfoot research. There should be three mics so they can triangulate the location.
