I have two units, both about 7 years old. Goodman. 3 ton and 1.5 ton. I've been in this home for almost 3 years. I've had service/repair done at least twice a year since I've been here. Almost every time they add R-22. The leak is at the evaporator coil on the inside units. Last week I had two pounds added to each and paid $491 for the service. Stop Leak products have been tried with no success.

I asked for a quote from three different companies for replacing the units. I can't just replace the coil because of the R-22 crap that was installed. I have to move to 410. Meaning an expensive repair is discarded for a complete replacement. It frikken SUCKS.

I'm looking at $10, 800.00 for Carrier units 3ton/2ton.
I'm looking at $10, 400.00 for Goodman units 3ton/2ton.

I'm waiting on the other two quotes now. On this quote I'd go with Carrier. Goodman sucks for the little bit of money saved.
