Is this in Tuscaloosa or Bibb County? I could probably understand why you can't get Bibb County to respond, but thought TC would be on it.

It was a spiritual voodoo ritual to make evil sprits go away. The fruit draws the evil spirits .6 is usually the number that participate . Wife asked her Hispanic co-worker bout it.

Bet you'd have freaked them out if you'd picked up the orange and ate it. laugh

Tuscaloosa County Sheriffs probably slam up busy assisting Tuscaloosa Police on saving the world with MIP arrests

I don't think it's a body, ritual of some kind. I can tell you one thing if it was my place I would have dug it up by now to know for sure tho.

The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.

If theyre dealing with evil spirits they must have to deal with them regular because they've been there several times..
This is some crazy stuff and at this point nothing is going to surprise me

I'm the County Attorney for Bibb. I'll make a few calls tomorrow. But like I insinuated earlier it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this out.

No way I'd dig it up. Whether it's a body, where someone died or where they just "dropped" off some kind of evil spirit. There's some bad ju-ju there.

Have you determined how they are accessing your land? Surely as much as they come and go they have established a slight trail that a seasoned hunter could easily see... surely they aren't parking on the highway

Hope this doesn't end up a troll, has me very curious

This is absolutely not a troll (don't really know what that is) and its 100% real I'll assure you.
They are parking just off the hwy and walking in on a part of the property I hardly ever go so seeing a trail which they do have isn't something I'd see since I rarely go there now in saying this their vehicle was very visible from the road which is how I discovered them

Sure enough, open the manhole and their is a perfectly formed fetus about 6 inches long lying there. We finally determined it was a miscarriage from a teen whose family didn't know she was pregnant. Since it was a miscarriage and the fetus was not viable, the DA didn't pursue any charges. Sometimes the strange calls do lead to something.

My point is that they may be tied up on something big right now that can't be dropped over a case that, even if it is a body, probably won't develop into a major crime and it is not likely that any evidence is going to be lost this quickly anyways. If it is something, a day or to probably won't matter after this amount of time, IF it is at the expense of a serious major case. Part of good LE is prioritizing, and satisfying our curiosity, mine as much as anybody's, is not high on their priority list.

However, it is something that needs to be looked into and not just brushed off with a "don't go digging up old bones" (excuse the poor, but appropriate, pun) attitude. If you don't hear from them soon, as in a day or two, call the retired DA back and tell him to let them know you are going to call the press and let them ask why it wasn't looked into. This won't make friends, but I bet it will get action.

A good investigator is someone that is naturally curious about things. These situations are the type of thing that make me wish I was still in the game, then I turn on the news and know why I am glad I got out when I did.

I understand that LEO's are busy, but if I call them and tell them that I believe I've found a dead person buried in the woods they better have their ass there ASAP, regardless of how many turkeys they've found in the dumpster on black Friday. It may just turn out to be a mexican voodoo ritual, but we definitely need to rule out possibility numero uno asap.

If the Department isn't equipped to handle more then one case at a time, they need to hire a few more fellas.

What if it was a kid that was murdered and buried in the woods then that means there is a kid murderer running freely on the streets with access to other kids. I highly doubt that's even the case, but hell who knows. You seem like a good leo/detective, I'm sure You know what I mean.

Hopefully it's just some wierd illegal mexican voodoo ritual and all of that jazz.

This is why I said earlier that there is more than one law enforcement agency to call with this scenario. First of all they were caught trespassing. Second who knows what they were doing back there from all the possibilities. From burying a child or baby, illegal grave site of an aldult human, sacrifice of a goat, hunting out of season, hunting over corn 100 hundred yards within site of bait, poaching, killed a deer then field dressed it and buried it in the woods because game check doesn't work in Spanish and they didn't have a pen. Ain't no tellin!

All of you talking about trespassing. Do you really think they are going to investigate a trespassing claim?

Do you know it isn't even a misdemeanor? Criminal trespass 3rd degree (which is what this would be) is a violation. No department is going to investigate a criminal trespass 3rd degree. In order to get anywhere with such a charge, it would require you to know who it was and to go swear out a warrant. Then they might arrest someone, if they are somehow stopped for something else.

Other than a minor violation, there is absolutely no evidence of any other crime. None. The certainly isn't any fresh grave, hell, there is no evidence of a grave. Are the police suppose to conjure up some mythical charges? Maybe they were looking for a yahoo.
