Anyone started hitting the lights on smith yet I haven't fished in May in while I have a 38 lbs on the wall I caught several years ago in late May just wondering if anyone has done any good or has heard of anyone catching anything also does anyone know where I could get shad around Jasper.

I fish for them just about every weekend. Lately they have hade lockjaw and haven't been active at all. I have no problem finding them but they just aren't biting much. This spring with the exception of a couple of days has been real slow. Even the guides I know are having a tough time catching decent numbers right now for some reason.

What are you fishing with I normally fish with Gold fish or shad think of using bream this time I will be be going out of Duncan Friday night probably headed up Rock

I have been using bream and shad for live bait. Redfins and large swim baits are on the baitcasters. The few fish I have managed to catch this year have been on bream or redfins.

I mainly fish from Big Bridge back to Goat Island.

i got into some hybrids sunday in demopolis, they were chasing shad. They were knockin em right out the water. I WAS catching them on a mirror lure
