Did they knock on it with the barrel of a gun? Sorry, still not getting it.

That was not the only patch I found, just scariest. Had a dude one time walk up on me in the woods in the middle of no where in Walker CO, GA. Asked me what I was doing. I told him and he just went on his way. I asked many people around the track who he was and no body knew or heard of him. Later that week I walked up to a creek on this 800ac tract and there was a stone structure in the shape of a coffin with a long thin stone crossing over where the neck would have been. We bought the tract but when flagging out the SMZ, I never found it again. I even had someone else try and help me find it and we could not.

I was hunting on Skyline in about 1985 so far back up in there you couldn't even hear banjo's playing.... Well before daylight in the dark I hear something huffing and snapping and making a serious bunch of racket coming up a draw towards me.... I'm up a tree in a Baker climbing stand so no way for me to get down or really do much but ride the tree. I've got a Recurve Bow and 575 duzen wooden arras with those old bear 2 blades on them.

This thing comes up under me raising all kind of cane and is seriously pizzed off about something. I was a dang black bear. A mad one. At that time there were no black bears around and I had never seen one in the wild.

You want to talk about puckered....

I know it is against the rules but I have taken a pistol with me bow hunting a lot since that day.

Walking up a hillside in the dark, with only moonlight to guide me around the cactus and mesquite. Stepped into the middle of a covey of quail. I screamed so loud, I probably ran off every deer for miles around.

good way to freak out those that spook easily:

take a long rope and tie one end to a tree, poke a hole in the bottom of a 5 gal bucket and thread the rope through the hole, wet the rope and your hand, hold tension on the rope and run your wet hand up and down the rope causing friction...sounds like a womppus ape/squatch/spook climbing from the depths of h3ll in the dark of night! the bucket is for amplification and weight, which causes different pitches from the rope when moved closer or further from the tree.

Never been afraid of the dark in the woods. I guess it comes from camping out overnight so much ever since I was about 10. Heck, by the time I was about 14, I was camping out under the stars by myself, just sleeping straight on the ground, out in the woods. I tell my boys there's nothing there in the dark that isn't there in the daylight. The only thing I'm remotely scared of in the woods is being shot by a trigger happy hunter.

I've hunted dangerous game in Africa on more than one occasion.
I've guided and hunted brown bears and grizzly bears in Alaska for a number of years.

The thing that scares me the most in the woods is a wild dog. Part of them is programmed to be a predator. Another part of them is programmed not to be afraid of humans. That is a bad combo.

Had a guy in camp one time and we placed two red reflector pins on a stump a short distance away and called for him to come bring his gun that there was something in the woods. He shot that dang stump prolly 5-6 times with his deer rifle. We were all rolling

Only accurate rifles are interesting.

I was on a dove shoot in coosa county a few years back. It got slow for me so I decided to walk to a different pasture to flush birds to everybody. I come easing along through a low side in the pasture and have to go by a finger of woods that comes out probably 50 yards. But the last 5 yards has a ditch in it. I come walking by and in that ditch I hear multiple growls. I took off so fast I probably could've hung with Usain bolt. I wait for a friend to get there about 30 minutes later and we go back. We get to the same spot and up top the hill is about 5 wild dogs. The ones that growled at me. Unfortunately the dove shot wasn't effective at the yardage.

Hunted whitetails in Idaho several years in a row and our group frequently encountered both wolves and mountain lions. It was more cool than scary except for one night when I had to wait for an hour to be picked up after dark. A few wolves howled way off in the distance across a canyon. I knew they were a long way off but the longer I waited and didn't hear them again, the spookier I made myself get. I had a loaded rifle, knife, and flashlight in hand by the time I got picked up.

If some of these guys on here knew of the old stories about ol' man Albert and that cemetery, they'd have never gotten out of the truck!

Albert Ayers was a demon from Hell. I actually believe every word of what I just typed. He was a good bit older than me but I knew him for as long as I can remember first hearing his name. I was around him and some of ta people that he hung out with in the early 70s. Sometime in the 80s he dug up a baby's grave in Manchester and boiled the bones to make "soup". 3 people that I knew died in his presence and another one that I didn't know. All died under questionable circumstances. A family member close to his mother was a federal judge in Gadsden and nothing ever stuck other than misdemeanor charges when was arrested.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.
