I am now boatless and considering a purchase in the next couple of months .
Not a slow pontoon!! 20mph not gonna cut it but can't afford a 250 on it so have to compromise. Maybe 150 or 200. Want plenty of room for the family. Boat lake martin primarily so wake can get big so maybe tritoon? Bowrider would have to be 23 to 26 feet to have enough room I believe. Potty room on bowrider would be good. I don't see us wakeboarding. But tubing and maybe skiing. Not spending over $30k to $35k but would be nice to be under that. I don't need high end pontoon. What are some good manufacturers that are not overpriced. I have found some mid 2000's 240 sea rays in my price range that I like. Thoughts from the aldeer experts???? (When you receive aldeer membership you are automatically an expert). Yes I know boats are money pits.
If you’re a common sense person, you probably don’t feel you have a home in this world right now. If you’re a Christian, you know you were never meant to.
Caravelle makes some good bowriders. Personally don't like fiberglass boats for some reason. Never have been on a tri-toon, but heard they are nice. I see people pulling wakeboarders all the time on them.
My BIL had a tritoon with a 350 I/O. had silent choice and would scoot. Like you said with Lake Martin, bow riders are pretty rough on the big water.

If you're gonna buy a pontoon you might as well pony up and buy this one...

we have a Manitou tritoon pontoon boat, it is "V toon", with the middle pontoon being lower, it has been a great boat, turns much sharper than typical pontoon, and will go 40mph with a 150hp and full of people.
Yeah I like the thoughts of center toon lower. I guess maintenance will be better on pontoon. Shocked a 150 gives you 40mph. Sign me up. A 90 on a pontoon gave me 24 tops with family. Surprised in the difference with a 150

I think its that SHP pontoon system, gets more boat out of water, more boat out of water = less drag, less drag = more speed.
Call blue creek marina @ lake martin and ask to speak to Justin. If he dont have what you are looking for, he will find it. My dad has dealt with him for a long time. He is a good guy, and very helpful
A BAD DAYS HUNTING OR FISHING IS BETTER THAN ANY DAY AT WORK
Well looks like pontoon. I just don't want to miss the maneuverability and speed of a bowrider. I turned 40 last year and bring at least 3 females with me when I go so I will be cool in either lol.
We got a Bennington 22SCWX last summer with a Yamaha 150 VMax SHO and it will do right at 42 MPH. Just put a SS prop on last week and can't wait to get it out on the water again.
Look for an older Bennington and they have a great warranty, got a 10 year bow-to-stern on mine.
