Thanks Mike and Lucy for a job well done this weekend. Lucy took a 17 hour track from the evening before and had the buck bayed in 45 minutes. Mike was in Barbour county ready to go within 2 hours of my calling him. Mike and his dogs are the real deal. If you've shot a deer you can't find, don't push him, back out and call Mike. Thanks Mike for the extra effort in a tough situation (the deer was bayed within 75 yards of a busy highway). You and Lucy made a 15 year old young man very happy.

I'm heading to Union Springs with my bow next week. It is a comfort knowing you and Lucy will be doing your thing just in case. You found and dispatched a 9 point for me last January. You both were certainly the answer to a prayer and I'm sure you fulfill that role for a lot of folks. Thank you for doing what you do!

Last season here in Alabama Lucy had her best streak! She put the last 17 deer in a row she tracked on the tail gate,all were cold calls no gimies or set ups,thought I would post the picture and see if any of you recognise yourself

Heard y'all did a hell of a job on yesterday's track. Really impressed that y'all were able to track one across the river multiple times. Hopefully, he wasn't mortally wounded

Yup,that was a tough one ,he swam the river three times,we had to gather up the dogs and had to drive 6 miles around across a bridge to get to the other side,then he hit the river again,I figure the last time he swam the current down river a long ways,I'm pretty sure that one will survive,if I hadn't called Lucy back,she probably would have swam down river with him,but I didn't know the area very well,when she was around 1000 yards away on the opposite side of the river I got nervous and toned her back,

My name is Mike Lopez,I'm originally from Idaho,i once guided mt lion and bear hunts with hounds,now i live out here.

I have been training dogs both professionally and for pleasure hunting and tracking for

"50" years


I track deer for hunters full time 24/7 with my specially trained dogs,they are Texas blue Lacy's

My main dog is Lucy.

Last season 2015/2016 she put

"142deer on the tail gate" of those 59 were still alive,

As a pup from 2010 to 2013 she recovered/put on the tailgate 26 deer.

2013/2014 deer season she put on the tail gate/recovered 55deer of those 55 deer 18 of them were still alive,broke leg,shoulder,gut shot

during the 2014/2015 season she put "101

"deer on the tail gate/recovered, of those 101deer 42 were still alive!!


By recovered I mean we put our hands on them and lifted them onto the tail gate!!
For a total of 324 deer put on the tail gate/recovered!!!as a 5 yr old dog and she just keeps getting better.
My deer tacking season starts out in Kentucky. I am in KY from the archery opener"Sept. 3rd until September 9th,Then i go to Georgia and track from the second week in Sept. until end of december then i go to Alabama thru Feb.10th. As you can tell tracking is a passion of mine,I love to watch my dogs work and it is very rewarding when we find a hunters deer.
My most rewarding moments are when we find deer for youth hunters.

So far this year we have put 89 deer on the tail gate!!
For a career total of

413 pretty amazing for a 6 year old dog!!


,tracking is my retirement hobby.so I don't have a fee
I track for donations to help me with expenses.
