Can anyone give me a good current report on the fishing down there? What's biting now, etc? We are supposed to go down toward the end of this week, but if there's not much going on in terms of fish being caught, then we might change our plans.

Haven't heard of much on the fishing front from down that way lately, but to give you a head's up...all of the schools around here are out for Spring Break this week and Gulf Shores is probably covered in young'uns until next Sunday. Shoot fairwater a PM. We use to get fishing reports in the Thursday and Sunday newspapers around here, but now, it's every once in a while that we'll get a report. You could also check the forum over at Great Days Outdoor for some reports.

They should be catching Pomps and reds in the surf. I need to get down there and give them a try before my license expires. I'd hate to pay $55 for a saltwater license and only use it twice.
I'll put a post on the Pensacola Fishing Forum and see if I get any replies.

On Ft Morgan or Dixie Bar, you need to try and catch some fingerling croakers. You'll run out of bait before you run out of beer.  Get you a seine net or some tiny hooks and catch them on the bay side by the piers.
