I prefer to be extremely high when possible. Nothing outrageous, but I've climbed high enough a few times in the past that it felt dangerous. I have used a 50' parachute cord for years and years, and I think only once did I get near that. Climbing 40-ish' would usually be in a pine on a clearcut.
I enjoy being about 20' in a white oak just at the limbs. Really like if I can climb up to the limbs and have my upper body above the limb(s) when I stand up (for cover).
