40ft is way on up there. I have a stand up right now I can get up 40ft in, and would because that's where I can see all I need to see. Most trees would dump you out of your stand before you get to 40. Maybe in a real straight pine. I can tell you 40ft up in a tree on a mountain side sure looks alot higher when your looking off the mountain. I climb trees for a living so I'm used to being up there or I probably wouldn't do it. Alot could go wrong.
