I've taken head shots before but prefer high neck shots. Saves the meat. I had a friend try a head shot, only to shoot low and blow the lower jaw off of it. I was one plot over when the deer came trotting in to view and it wasn't pretty. I finished it off but it changed my thought process for taking that shot.
