skintback OP 10 point Joined: Jul 2007 Posts: 3,354 Monroe County, AL	My dad, 78 yrs old has been diagnosed with bladder cancer. We found out about a month ago and this past week found out that it was in the muscle in the floor of the bladder. Due to his age and health, it doesn't appear surgery is an option. We go to UAB Thursday for a consult. If you don't mind send up a prayer that we can get some good news for treatment options. Thanks guys. Anything worth doing, is worth doing right, or it's not worth doing at all! ------------------------------

His Doctor in Birmingham goes in through the urethra and removes the cells from time to time. I'm not trying to give you false hope, as every case is different, but in my dad's case, it is very treatable. Right now, they have him COMPLETELY cleared of any signs of cells. I'm praying for you and him of course, but bladder cancer hasn't been the death-knell for my dad. I know that "C" word is scary, but UAB is EXACTLY the right place to be, with some really smart folks. Best to you and Pop. Woody
