They are interesting creatures. One morning I watched three younger ones hunt together on the edge of a swamp. First one was on the edge of the swamp the next was about 10 yards away, the third about another ten yards. The one closest to the swamp would creep about 15 yards and stop. Then the next one went until he was level with the first, then the third went. They did this all the way down the edge until out of my sight. They had this down to an orchestrated pattern. No idea what they were after but it made a slow bow hunt fun.

I've shot at a few with my bow and only drew blood one time. He ran into a very thick clearcut and I wasn't going after him.

I shoot them because I hunt on a place where the owners do all they can to re-establish a huntable population of wild quail. Any and all predators, except the worst, a hawk, are on the hit list.

If it wasn't for their choice of prey, I'd just watch them. But like 257 says, any cat is bad news. Until I see a black painter, any cat has to go if I see it.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

This is what a .300WM does to one when you shoot it up the ass with a 165gr Federal Fusion. grin

Historically, bobcat predation on fawns was higher than coyote. However, with coyote populations in the SE what they are now, I feel fairly confident coyotes prey on fawns at a higher rate than bobcats.

I asked the question because yotes gained 99% of the attention on here. Now when bobcats are brought up, they are worse than yotes. Uh, ok. loco

I've said many times that coyotes aren't our most efficient predators. From a turkey hunters perspective bobcats are a much larger threat. I'm just as glad to catch a coon or possum as I am a coyote.

More Yotes and easier to kill. 1 cat will do way more damage than 1 Yote.

Coons, possums, & skunks are a big nest predator. They will dine on eggs any chance they get.

Well are you a snake killer or a snake relocater? I'm a snake relocater. I only relocate their heads though.

I get pics of bobcats on every trail cam pull, Daytime and night time, but very rarely see them.
