I was 7 or 8 when my grandfather bought me a browning bar .243. Killed a doe with open sights cause my dad would not allow me to have a scope for whatever reason, under a white oak tree in Dallas county at Elm Bluff Hunting club.

A doe in 1989 in Baldwin County using a Rem 700 6mm. I was 12 and it was first time hunting out of my new amacker climber. Killed a bunch after that using the same gun and climber.

Marengo County, Thanksgiving weekend 1983. Shot a spike with my Ruger M77, 7X57 at about 60 yards from a ladder stand. Still have the gun and never will forget the moment.

Doe, with the marlin durty turty, 3x9x40 tasco think I was 11, back in 1990. I'll never forget that moment, I was as nervous and shaky as anything don't know how I even made the shot. Bullet was 125gr hollow point, she dropped in her tracks cause I hit her high and had to shoot again in the head once I got out there.

Was set up below a damn out west mobile off pace nursery rd. Big doe came out and i busted her with what my dad Thought would be a good first deer rifle, savage 110 in 7mm mag. Cut her ass a flip lol. I messed up and pawned that gun years later with full intention to get it back but never did. I wish I could find it somehow.....

Ted Williams 12 Guage Pump with poly choke. We had 52 acres behind our house that was prime hunting land, i just had no idea how to hunt. I was sitting in a pine tree that my "step dad" had put me a tree stand in ( this consisted of sending me up the tree by the limbs and nailing two 2x4s on the outside of a fork in the tree). Anyway, i sat down in this stand that was overlooking a small grass field in the woods. we didn't plant this field, it was just there. i was shooting the first deer that showed.....all of the sudden i had does streaming in behind me, 3 i believe, i put my gun up and about the time i clicked the safety off i heard a grunt under me. Looked down and saw the first racked deer of my hunting career. 5 shots later he was laying in the field.

Shot a doe at dark30 on a corn pile the size of a truck hood at my father's buddy's place.

I put that rifle on lay-away at the local hardware store and cut grass all summer to pay for it and a Bushnell scope.

That rifle was stolen out of my truck along with my first compound bow years later...

So 20, 16 gauges and 30/30s and several 243s got there majority of our firsts. Now we all need the biggest baddest 1000 yard tackdriver that a months salary and the first born son will barely buy. Anybody else seeing that?
