I remember reading the news accounts of her and her husband torturing that little girl and murdering her like it was yesterday, and now she's trying to get parole.

Burning that witch at the stake would be too good for her.

I grew up near Fort Payne and remember when this happened. My Mother could not believe another human being could do this to a child and it worried her for months thru the whole trial that she would be able to get released from prison one day. I hope that someone in the judicial system has the common sense to not let this happen.

This reminds me of the Hi-Fi murders in Ogden, Utah back in the 1970s. Almost as brutal.

Fob James commuting her death sentence to life as he was walking out the door should have NEVER happened.

She may win the current case, I have no idea of its merits, and be eligible for parole, but being eligible and being granted parole are two different things. If she ever gets out it will be when she is a very old terminally ill woman and the State is just trying to save some medical expenses.

Why in the hell would Fob James commute her sentence? One of those things that doesn't make sense, it sounds like a special favor type decision of some sort.

she was one of the first high-profile defendants in the state to use the modern psychological defense of "i was in his thrall and couldn't help myself." kind of like stockholm syndrome but on a smaller scale. i was never satisfied that it wasn't her who manipulated the whole thing. no parole for her, period, in my view ...

Anyone who knows anything about her knows that she was a criminal psychopath mastermind behind them two. I think he was kind of retarded.

Her attorney, as I recall, was Fort Payne criminal defense attorney Bob French. We lived in Fort Payne until I was about 14, so I remember this notorious case fairly well. I was in school and in the same grade with Bob French's twin children Tammy and Tommy.
