What am I missing. Every OL man I ever used was very comfortable. I know there was a problem at one time with there pins. Is there any other issues?

I have four of them never had a problem with any of them, but bass pro in Prattville has a newer version of the Ole man vision for 150.00 they looked nice, but the only thing I have trouble with them and make sure either climb a soft sweet gum tree or better yet a pine tree because on the hard bark oak trees they wii slip if your not very careful but other wise there very comfortable . I had a trail camera go bad and took it back to bass pro and decided to get the Api for 169.00.I love them stands they have the chain to them instead of the cable also very comfortable. And will climb any tree out there . Good luck.

I emailed Ol' Man and asked them if the pins were safe on their older stands. The reply I got was that if the pins did not have the screw on caps then they were not safe. IDK, maybe this is what they have to say for liability reasons. But just to be safe I will be getting new pins.

Also it looks like Ol' Man is now owned by the same company that owns Millennium stands. I didn't know that.

Need pin nuts on pins! The flat slats with grooves from older models you better respect on hardwoods. I was scared to face away from trees with those after a few slipping scares, especially on hardwoods. I had about a foot of pine bark come rolling off the tree after a rain on first outing. Should have got a refund then. Make sure you get some of the Summit type straps to tighten around bottom and top when you get to top of tree for sit. If you don't do this I would sit on the ground or you may be one of the treestand statistics! And wear a good harness!
