You could also run a chain through the hole to the left of the gearbox to lift it.

Two roads diverged in the woods and I took the one with deep ruts, hills and mud.It may be bumpy but WHAT A RIDE!

I sharpen all the blades on our bushhogs so I'm familiar with this- if you can't get your bushhog high enough, back your rear tires up on a rock or curb or anything, .. And I'd use a hand grinder on the wire.

I was able to get the wire out of my bush hog this weekend without having to flip it over. I used my shortest top link and drove the front tires into a shallow ditch. As you can see, I used 4x4 posts and a strap to secure the implement. You can never be too careful. The responses I received helped me re-think my approach. I'm glad I didn't go through the trouble of flipping it. Many Thanks.

Glad to see some safety blocks under there. People get kilt messing with bush hogs. I normally pick mine up with the loader and put some safety chains on it.

The last time I did ours I backed it up close to a tree, unhooked the 3pt hitch arms but left he top link attached.

Took a chain and chained the front of the cutter to the tree and slowly drove the tractor forward. The chains kept the cutter from moving forward and the top ling levered the hitch until it was sitting perpendicular to the tractor. Then I attached straps to the cutter wheel and to the tree and tractor so it could not move.

It was actually pretty easy and very stable when I was through.
