I don't know what you call this. Mrs. Irish whipped this up. It has smoked sausage, kale, onions, celery, carrots, garlic. She boiled and soaked 1 cup each of dried: pintos, black beans, great northern, blackeye peas and lentils. She then put all that together with 2 tsp salt, 3 tsp black pepper and other seasonings, 1 quart of tomatoes and 2 boxes of chicken stock. Simmered all that 'till it got all good and served with thin, crispy corn bread.

We call it swamp soup, but use turnips instead of kale. I've always liked it. I think she normally would have used collards or turnip greens, but Kale is what she had. I think it would be good with just collards, sausage and pinto beans and the other stuff.
