Any of you hunt Kentucky WMA? If so can you help and lead me in right direction on a good WMA, there are plenty to choose from. I don't want to steal spots or someone's area just would like to get some advice on a good WMA to spend my time on.

I went to higginson Henry first week of November and saw a lot of deer. It's bow only and it can get kind of steep in some places but nothing like down here. Three days of hunting I saw 37 and three big bucks. Just didn't work out. I'm going back in December some time and won't be as picky so I can fill my tags lol.

Thanks for info. That was one of the two I picked out to look at, other was WestKentucky wma. Was there a lot of other hunters on Higginson Henry.

H&H is slammed due to closure of close by big river wma. Still some deer to be had but don't go if you like hunting away from people.

I hunted H&H for 10 days in early November. I saw a heck of a lot more people than deer. I swear a girl in a bikini would not get whistled at as many times as I did up there.

Closure? I thought it turned to a draw hunt.

83% of all statistics are made up.

That may be it also. That's just what I was told

I know they apparently don't give a damn about bow only rules on the Clay WMA. I was hunting close to it on the opening morning of rifle season this year and it sounded like Afganistan.

Big Rivers went to 130 drawed permits for the month of November. bow only. they also hold a drawed for 2 day rifle quota hunt the first weekend in November. I was fortunate this year to get the bow draw. hardly seen anyone while I was there the 2nd week in November. awesome hunting. I seen 2 shooter bucks 130 and over. it was a group of 4 of us and everyone seen a shooter and 2 people actually shot a couple of really nice deer that were never recovered. I would highly recommend putting in for the bow draw next year. hardly any pressure on the deer at big rivers.

There were a lot of people there when I went but they all seemed to be in the same general area. I didn't see one other person while I was hunting. I would walk a long way in and then go over a couple ridges off the trails. Saw deer every spot I sat. Found one spot right on the road where I watched cars drive by and saw a lot of does. Nobody hunts that area cause it's so close and it's very near a campground. I think I'm going back in a week or two and won't be as picky this time so I can fill my tags.
