Hardwoods today. Been seeing a good many deer but if one shows his face today it could be bad for him or her. Last day deer hunting probably for the year as the real hunting season opens Friday.

Bout to leave work and head off into the woods will prolly make it to the tree right after sun up. Sit back and enjoy the scenery while catching some Z's now and then after a long night shift.

Back in cutover stand in Louisiana. Saw 15 here ystdy am and 17 ystdy pm. Saw big bodied deer before daybreak and couldn't tell exactly what they were and ystdy pm saw what I'm sure is the same two bucks come out and fight but once again it was too dark to tell exactly how good they were. Hoping this am one slips up.

Sitting in a power line stand with gun and bow.. hopefully a doe will get close enough to shoot with my bow..

Set up in Cahaba with my bow. Just had a coyote come in at 25 yards but it saw me before I could get ready to shoot.

Seen 4 so far. 3 it was to dark to tell what they were.

In some open hardwoods in bankhead nf. I have not been able to scout this area so I'm trying to cover as much ground as I can since they are rutting.

Got to the tree I'm climbing only to spook a deer. Hopefully another one will be along shortly.

Well that was the shortest sit of my life. Got there, 3 other trucks were at the club, as I get my stuff together another pulls up. Get to the pin board, and everyone had pinned close to, but not on, but close enough that I wasn't comfortable going to the spots I had planned. Picked a random spot, hated it, was cold, and hungry. Just got inside. I'll sit a while this evening.

Took my oldest for a few hours this morning and we went old school. Found a big pine on the side of a ridge, cleared the base of it and sat down with him right in front of me. We saw eleventy billion squirrels and a glimpse of a deer that just seemed to disappear after it went into a small thicket. Was a beautiful morning. Heard one hunter shoot two times back to back about a mile away. No other shots.

Only saw those few this am. Got a big storm rolling in tonight about 11 and supposed to rain until 6. Hopefully that will get them on their feet and make tomorrow am outstanding

I don't see any rain in the forecast till tomorrow night and now it's been reduced to a 20% chance.

Back at it. Never had any luck sitting on the ground but didn't feel like climbing. Just glad I get the opportunity to enjoy Gods creation one more time. The older I get the more I realize it always about killing. Good luck fellers
