Cmon guys, is no one hunting?

I slept in this morning but heading in to sit through mid-day. I'm guessing with the moon that's when they will be moving, but maybe I'm just wasting my time. We will see!

I just got settled into the stand good I'm sitting on corps land about 120 yards from the parking lot wacthing a creek crossing with the moon being as bright as it was I'm going to try and sit until 12:30. I found this spot preseason but I can tell someone else has been hunting here about 30 yards from my tree is another tree that has been climbed and they also cut shooting lanes. Oh well that's the joy of hunting public land I guess

I'd like to know what you rascals do for a living that seem to hunt 2-3X a week on weekdays?

I normally don't, but I worked my 40 for the week over the weekend and yesterday (youth group fall retreat, 17 hour days) so I get to hunt this week.

I'm still in college and I work retail. Time in the woods is limited so I go whenever I have chance

I work in a hospital and work every other weekend so I hunt a good bit during the week. Also, I stack my days, so I'll do 8/9 then off for 5-6.

My wife is a pharmacist and makes enough money for us to live on comfortably. When our twins came along, I stayed at home to take care of them due to having no family around to help out. They’re in school now so I have more free time on my hands. I don't get a “real’ job again because it would make our lives too hectic for no other reason than a little more income. We need that little bit of income far less than we need the “time”. We don’t have to worry about who’s gonna pick up the kids on this day or who’s gonna take them to ball practice on that day, etc……We’re also able to spend a lot of time together as a family.

It’s boring as all hell though just to be here alone with the dogs all day. I’ve remodeled my house and land until I’m about sick of it. The motivation to paint another wall or saw down another tree comes in waves now. I've had a lot of fun training the dogs though. I’m really enjoying tracking deer for folks too because it allows me to get out in the woods and socialize with other hunters on my own schedule.

I got settled in at Cahaba about 9:30. Had one walk up a ridge about 75yds from me around 10:00. It just started raining pretty good where I'm at. I'm planning on sitting the rest of the day.

Didn't hunt today, went for the dreaded skin cancer biopsy.

Anyway, been texting with some buddies who are hunting, it seems they are just now seeing deer (since about 11:00). One friend has deer on the ridge with him now as I'm typing this.

I run an insurance agency, pretty much come and go as I please. It's a trade off, I'd rather be so busy that I couldn't hunt as much (well, maybe not really, but you get the picture), but mornings in particular are slow for us...after all, everybody else is at work, they ain't in here buying insurance! LOL I don't miss many full days, but I can hunt half days pretty much whenever I want to.

Just shot at a coyote and missed. Arrow hit a limb that I didn't see.
