Folks want to blame not seeing deer on not having scentlok clothes or washing down in scent killer, cover scents, moon charts, lunar eclipses, not having a deerview mirror or bag of rattling tarsal glands. Sometimes the deer just aren't around your area that day.

Keep hunting.

Just be careful, when I was young. A buddy and I were squirrel hunting. It was maiden trip for his new pump shotgun. We stopped near a stream for lunch. He had to take a #2. He moved away and when he got his pants down , for some reason he moved. He continued to do his business then all hell broke loose. He was cussing and yelling. It seems when he moved he had settled over his new gun. It was covered with chit when he had finished. It smelled like that the rest of our hunt too. Funny we just hunted on the way home instead of finishing the day ! LOL Just be careful where you are aiming when you drop your load ! LOL

I've got a video from another guy I hunt with of a buck fighting another dead buck on the ground that he had shot.

I shoot a mature buck several years ago. He was pushing a doe at the time. When he hit the ground two other young bucks started pushing her. They just stepped over his body. None ran off just continued to push her around about ten more mins. They just walked around his body.

I reckon you could drop a deuce (Or as I say, "Drop a Perch") right off your stand and probably be okay. I piss in every scrape I see and the deer come back and tear them up after. i also pee right off the stand.

Already had to drop bombs from the tree 3 times this year. I need to get on a better schedule. I don't like doing it because of the risk of stepping in it when exiting or re-entering that stand.

Speaking from experience, be sure to move your pull up rope before you do.

Best buck I ever shot was in KY with his head down right where I had taken a leak 1hr prior

Went on a wolf trap line on the Tanana river in AK with a friend. He trapped the heck out of wolves. Long story short, I was about to piss my pants (coffee and rough snow machining on the river) and asked him to stop the next place so I could go. I didn't want to mess up his line. Told me to go on and go right there in a set area. No big deal, and like I said, he trapped plenty of wolves

I can't understand what makes animals react to our sent. I mean we see plenty of deer in towns and subdivisions

Bingo! I killed one of my best oldest bucks about 30 minutes after I dropped a bomb 50 yards from my tree.

Paper towels are good, but I'm a fan of blue shop towels.
They can stay in a pack for a while and not powder up like normal TP.
And if it gets bad, you can always go with the triple double back fold.
Plus, they aren't as rough as paper towels.

"Triple double back fold"

To me that was pretty funny.
