I didnt have any blood at the site of the shot and had a pass thru on that good buck I posted in the general forum.

He wnt from 0 - 40 so dang quick...and to be honest..I didnt find blood at first AT ALL.

However..I saw where he ran into a ditch and headed over there..LOOKING the whole way...not a drop. Hit the ditch..red carpet. Saw a lump lying there..it was him. Took him all of 4 seconds to run that far..I walked the whole way out looking..couldnt find a drop until then.

His leg swinging..you definitely hit him.

Go look..he may be lying 100 -200 yds away.

Give it a try and gd luck. If you had dang buzzards they jknow for SURE. They smell death a MILE away I read. Id definitely do circles where they were.

They all bleed, it may just be a small amount of blood spread for many hundred yards. I've never seen one that just didn't bleed at all, even if I ended up loosing the deer due to a low leg shot or just skimmed their back, they bleed when cut. Broken leg and buzzards, I would be going back. Check close by drains, ditches and any bedding area in the close by area or call in a good tracking dog. It's up to us as hunters to give the animal every last effort to find them.

I'd be looking where the other bucks ran to and started blowing if you can't find any blood.

If it was a bachelor group, they usually follow each other early in the season.

God Bless,

If it hit leg bone depending on where it went from there. That is one tough bone.

I was going to offer to bring a dog if he was near here, but he never replied to my post.
