Another problem I have lies in the fact that the land that I hunt on has been managed pretty intensively for the last 25 years. We really worked at getting the population in check and maintaining standards on what was shot. It is a pretty healthy herd right now and that was done voluntarily. Now our data is going to get thrown in with data from other lands that were poorly managed or not managed at all to be used to determine what is best for where I hunt. After 30 years, I think myself and the landowner are pretty good judges of what needs to happen on his land. We even get some pretty good pointers from some prominent biologists.
Good points about how QDM has been around so long. Most hunters have been doing QDM now for many many years. And the 3 buck limit has been very beneficial. So there is really no *scientific* need for game check. It is just more government interference and control thanks to power hungry control freak government BUREAUCRATS.
