You have a right to remain silent. You have a right to testify on your own behalf, If you elect to testify, you will be subject to cross examination like any other witness. You have a right not to testify on your own behalf. If you choose not to testify, no one except your lawyer may mention that fact to the jury. the jury will be instructed that they may not take your failure to testify as evidence of guilt.
