He will make someone a hell of a qb, i hate to see him go. Like others I wish he would have toughed it out until seasons end. Best of luck to him where ever he lands.

I've heard the same thing about "daddy issues".Barnett could deliver a pretty pass but his release was long/slow and it seemed as though he needed a perfect pocket to deliver a good ball.I think he definitely should've stuck out this season, but if he's not committed to the team he did the right thing. To me it speaks of this current generation, where if I don't get my way then I'll take my ball and go home.

He only has to sit out next year for the number of games he dressed for this year.
So, he would be eligible after game four of next year. From the NCAA Guide for Transfers: WHEN CAN I PLAY? Generally, you need to spend one academic year at your new school as a full-time student before you are eligible to compete. This time is called an academic year in residence and is designed to allow you to become comfortable in your new environment. I don't read anything about number of games. There might would have been an exception if he had not participated. I think he will sit next year unless an exception is made and Saban gives permission. He's Gone... Good Luck... WHO CARES.....

I wanted to see Barnett get the starting job, as I had my doubts on Hurts because he is a true freshman. However, Barnett had the opportunity and did not perform when he needed to and Hurts took the role and made the best of his opportunity. I would like to see Barnett stay around but I know the kid wants playing time and I don't blame him. I figured either Barnett or Cornwell would have left at the end of the season when Hurts got the job. Good luck to him where ever he ends up.

Blake had daddy issues. His daddy was very demanding about Blake's playing time, actually a real pain in the ass about it, problem was that Blake wasn't the best Qb on the team. Sometimes it is best for everybody if he moved on. One of the addition by subtraction cases is what your saying? May be best for the team but I think it would have been wiser for him to stay the season in the long run.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

I read somewhere that if a Junior College take's him now then he only has to sit the first 4 games next year, 5 if it's next week and 6 the next and so on.

Was thinking about this just now.
Some folks including the LSU admins see firing Les in midseason as "ripping off the Band-Aid, getting it done, moving forward" and so forth. Painful and momentarily disruptive, but the coaching staff gets the players re-focused and busy and they move on. Usually sounds worse than it is. Sort of like a company firing a CEO or CFO or top brass.
Some folks see it as good, others see it as terrible.
A football player leaves mid-season because it's clear to him that he's not in the picture, even if the coaches maintain (publicly) that he is. He believes he's put in the time, work, etc., and for whatever reason it's not in the cards for him. Or he has something else going on -- perhaps a girlfriend, fiancee, etc. across the country -- and just believes it's best to make a change.
Some folks shrug and say OK, but a lot of us (me included) look at him as a quitter. All he sees is, like the LSU admins, that it's time to make a change right now and not drag it out.
Why the disparity?

Just saw on ESPN an interview with one of the NCAA gurus and he knew the rule that covers him enrolling in JUCO and he says that it is broadly worded and open to interpretation as too when he will be eligible. Some read it to mean when he graduates from JUCO. Others go by the 4 games into the season. Some still think he will sit out all of next year. I guess it will all depend on what Saban tells Emmert he wants.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

He only has to sit out next year for the number of games he dressed for this year.
So, he would be eligible after game four of next year. That would only apply if he transfers to a JUCO team and plays the remainder of this season. If he transfers to a four year school he'll have to sit the whole '17 season. That makes zero sense. I'm not saying your wrong. It just doesn't make sense. I agree. I believe there's a stipulation where he'd be required to complete a set number of credit hours at the JUCO school and then he could transfer to another FBS school and would be eligible to play in week five. https://www.seccountry.com/alabama/ncaa-...ram-next-season

Hate that he left. Who knows what would've happened if he'd stayed around even though he lost out the starting job. Maybe he should've picked up the phone and called Jake Coker and asked about the benefit of hanging around year as the number 2 guy. Not exactly the same situation but similar.

O Chit brother. Gmac played as a graduate student. Sometimes you gotta take you time and put in your dues. Leaving now, in the middle of season tells me you ain't got what it takes. Hit the road jack and don't you come back. The third string QB has more moxy than you did. We will figure things out without you.
