I think he's letting the "on the fence" voters form their own opinions. By not hammering the front line questions, he is inadvertently making folks talk about HRC issues. He definitely came off as soft to the die hard Trump supporters, but his self-restraint may help him. I just hope his comments about tax sheltering don't come back to haunt him. It's the middle class that pays when you try to tax the 1%. Small business owners don't have the luxury of lobbyists and top tier tax accountants. He would be a fool not to hide realized income thus, getting hammered by taxes. I have no idea about politics and I may be flat wrong, but that's how I see it from my personal small business experience.
