I just don't see anybody out there for the HC spot. Get the Houston coach. If Houston gets in the BIG 12; I don't think he is going anywhere.

Need Brent back posting more. Between them two(Brent and 257) its worth the price of admission.
Axe and ye shall receive... 7 or 8 years ago auburn ran off the best coach they've ever had to hire a coach with a 5-19 career record. 3 years later they fire him for losing, AFTER he won them a National Championship. IMO, that sums up auburn football in two sentences.

Houston's trying to get into the Big12. If they do Herman stays, if not, he'll go to the best bidder with the best resources, etc.

I know someone who had Kiffen hit on his friend (asked her to his room) at the team Hotel when he was the head coach at UT. It is a fact. Most affairs don't make the newspaper as you know. But my point is, a lot of these dudes are cheating. That wont stop someone from hiring him. Kiffens indiscretions are well known. That being said, it makes me laugh out loud when folks say they don't want x coach or y coach due to things they have done. If that is the case, you might as well shut down the AD. On Gus, the pres of AU has announced his retirement. Jacobs may not be far behind. Would AU hire Lane Kiffin? If they did, I swear I would send my diploma back to them since I probably won't need it in the job market any more in my lifetime. Too me it stands for more than lowering the ethical standards all in the name of winning football. Same thing with Briles. I say this noting that Kiff's indiscretions are not in the same league as Brile's. Why didn't you send it back when Auburn hired Pearl? His hate for Kiffen is blinding him. Kiffen's "indiscretions" are all rumor and innuendo. No one has ever produced any evidence to back up all those claims. Well known rumors. Show me one credible news link to any indiscretions with Kiffen.

Which Kiffen y'all talking about? I figure even Layla is better than Gus.

If I was Gus this am the first thing I would do is get on the computer and log on to my financial accounts and look to see how many millions I have. I would do this from my newly recent multi million dollar home on Lake Martin. I would then get in my provided $60,000.00 F150 platinum series pick up truck and drive to Auburn and hope I still have a job. If not I then would think about the millions of dollars Auburn is going to pay me not to coach and wait for ESPN to call. Either way I win.
And his situation is the same for probably 90% of the big boy college coaches out there just different circumstances. The majority of them hold the upper hand while us fans have to sit by and take it because we don't have a say so in it to a certain extent.
The universities, to guarantee they have their coach and keeps that coach from leaving, that coaches agent gets them a buy out clause plus contract extensions. So when you make that coaching decision you better get it right or it will cost millions to try and correct.
Just look in the last thirty years at the most winning est programs in college football that that have been down that road. Alabama, Notre Dame, Michigan, Oklahoma, Texas, USC, Ohio State and Nebraska just to name a few. And out of those mentioned how many have finally gotten it right to their standards.
Proud Army and ALNG veteran God Bless America!

Stoops to Auburn!

If you’re a common sense person, you probably don’t feel you have a home in this world right now. If you’re a Christian, you know you were never meant to.

Stoops to Auburn! wouldn't that be the all time backfire. Turn down Florida on 3 separate occasions, just to end up at Auburn.
