I am by no means an expert on Mathews, but I've never shot one that had a solid back wall on let off. Wouldn't expect their budget brand to either. Have you shot one in past 3 or 4 years? My Chill R with the rock mods has a very nice back wall. And by way a bow with a back wall that's not so solid doesn't make it a bad bow IMO. Some people actually like the back wall to give some. That's why Mathews offers some of thier bows in regular or rock mods.
