I put a bag out at my buddy's place around his pond today. The water is way down with about 12ft of dirt around it. The birds drink there but was thinking the corn will bring more in. I'm going back next week to see how much has been eaten. Have yall done this before?

I hope this works well cause I'm planning on doing the exact same thing at a pond I have. Usually the deer eat most of it when I put cracked corn out to get turkey pics

I have a story I could share, but before that, what is the statute of limitations on being over the bag limit on doves?

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

I hear rock salt works well too.

That's what I was thinking. I put it out early just to see how long it lasted. I will look next week and see if there is any left. The last thing I want is the ground covered opening weekend.

That's a guaranteed arrest if he's caught.

Arrest?? Surely not. Couldn't he be top sowing wheat around the pond for erosion control?

Dang Matt, I didn't know you could get arrested but I guess it does carry state and federal penalties. Yeah, if you are gonna hunt over wheat, it does have to be normal agricultural practice.

Yeah c’mon. Daniel White

A ticket is technically an arrest, which is likely what he meant

That's why I just put 1 bag out. I just wanted to give them plenty of time to eat it and make a habit of coming in there. If there is still some on the ground next week I won't put more out. But I think the pond alone as a watering hole will be plenty. Oh cows get testy when you have a bag of corn in your hand.

That's my question as well. As long as it's less than 200lbs per acre and evenly distributed on a prepared seed bed, wouldn't it be legal?

Never use crack corn on a field you intend to hunt.
