"It's not an app to find out where people are hunting" is what I was told. Why would they need access to gps then?

Big Brother is alive and well. I hunt legally and ethically, especially since I'm a non resident but I'm not going to help them build any cases against anybody. It seems like the more you comply, the guiltier they think you are. Reminds me of North Woods Law like we were discussing the other day. I guess I'll go get a cheap burner phone with no frills to call in with if they even make them anymore. I get enough unwanted calls as it is on my personal phone.

The game wardens are not the ones writing the aps, and really wouldn"t have a clue as to anything other than what they were told. Selling contact info and other data is big money. Chuck said it wouldn't do any of that, either. Surely, he wouldn't lie, right?

The outdoor Alabama app didn't "need" any of that if I recall correctly. And it has the game check as part of it. you recall wrong . i was just going to download it and load it .

Apps, are just that. Just because it needs permissions such as the ones you listed, that doesn't mean the government is going in and seeing where you are or what pictures you've taken or who is in your contact list. There are sections in apps that USE those various functions of your phone and you are giving that app permission to use those functions since there a features within the app that uses them. Everything isn't a conspiracy
