We all know the main stuff, wind, noise, etc....
What are some little things you do that work for you?
I have a piece of thread tied off of the end of my stabilizer so I can always see the wind direction.
I pick up acorns and put them in my pocket to use if a deer is out of range. I drop them hoping they will hear the meal falling from the tree.
I love my carbomask face paint.
I wear camo gloves with the finger tips cut out. Really helps me feel the bow and equipment better.
Of course, I take my grunt tube with me and my hog grunt tube.

A big one is always attach your release to your bow when you finish. For those that use one.

I have a piece of thread tied off of the end of my stabilizer so I can always see the wind direction. I've got a pin feather from a goose I shot with one of my recurves tied to the end of the string. I untwisted a piece of nylon peep tying thread to tie it on with. It won't break and the small feather really picks up the wind. I have a quiver bracket mounted on a velcro strap. I can put it on any treestand that I hunt out of.

I have a fanny pack with my quiver attached. I normally hunt out of a Summit Viper. I attach the fanny pack to the rail and all my stuff is very handy including my quiver.

Barry, how many hunts can you get out of one of the "big" 3.5 oz carbomask containers? I use the military grease paint, it's a PITA to remove.

Listen and watch the squirrels sounds and movements. And don't scare them.

As a last ditch effort at the end of the day, I will take out my cell phone, and yell as loud as I can " Phone call for Mr. Bambi". So far, this "trick" hasn't worked out to well.

Thanks. I think I'm going to try it.

Its not something I control but it seems like everytime I see a bluejay I see a deer right afterwards. I think of them as good luck charms now. I've noticed this a lot of times too, but usually in early bow season when hunting acorns. They seem to like to feed on the same preferred oaks as deer.

I rarely hunt the same place twice during bow season. If I do, I try to avoid the area for about 2 weeks before going back. I think the deer come along after you've departed and they smell your scent and avoid the area. In my early years of bowhunting I hunted some good areas pretty hard and I was amazed at how little I would see, espedcially after the first hunt or two.
