I've never shot at a deer this far, but I hit a gal milk jug at 200 yards twice in a row last year (from a Lead Sled).

About 5% for me When I lived in Prattville most of not all would be 150+ but up here in hills most are 50 yards or less.

Though I really love key sitting on big clear cuts, pastures and crop fields. That's what I grew up hunting but you'll never see a deer around here in the wide open

I shot the milk jug in a cow pasture, rangefinder distance. Caldwell Lead Sled on tailgate of truck.

I killed these two with a mossberg 695 12 gauge. Dropped this 8pt in his tracks at 217 yards. And I ranged it after the shot. I was sitting in a chair watching a logging road and using a forked stick for a prop.  Shot this 8pt at 147 yards in a clear cut. He ran about 30 yards. I was sitting in a summit climber about 30 feet up a sweetgum tree. Notice the skinned place on my nose, I got a little too close to the scope. I think I was leaving a better blood trail than the deer. That gun killed on one end and wounded on the other. I sold it and got a savage 220 and love it. It doesn't kick as much and I can shoot further with it than with the 12 gauge.

No joke y'all, for the last 10 years I will regularly hunt with my slug gun even when I could otherwise use a rifle. I took it to Oakmulgee, killed a deer on Choccolocco, and several others on private land. Up to roughly 175 I am absolutely confident, at least 50/50 out to around 200. Anything within 150 is dead!
