Can anyone give me the name of a dependable, honest, and fair mechanic close by. My son will be at Snead and living there and you never know when you're gonna need a mechanic.

James Keeners garage is on 168 just past the food land on the left. I've never used him but he seems to have a good rep and he stays busy for sure. It's also within walking distance of the school.

I just used Brad Bearden. They didn't do as I requested on the first go-round on a vehicle that was overheating when under a load. I took it back, they drove it up the mountain twice, back to back, as I had originally requested and they went over everything and didn't charge me anything. All in all I'm good with the outcome but Lee could listen a little closer to the customer AND not park the vehicle all the way into their chain link fence, to the point of pushing the fence out a foot or so, when he parks it.

Next time I will only deal with Brad.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

x2 on Brad Bearden. My buddy Johnny Goodman works for him and is one of the best in N.A.He is W.O.A.D.the best transmission guy on sand mountain. If I lived a hundred miles away and had tranny problems I would have it towed to where ever he works to have him fix it because I would have the confidence of knowing it was fixed and not patched.

I wonder if this is the same Brad Bearden me and my family knew growing up in Pelham Alabama

I graduated with Brad and had him do several repairs over the years. Always seems to be square dealing.

Appreciate it guys. I hope he has no problems while he's there but you never know. But a mechanic is one of them things that you never know when you're gonna need one. Especially when my son is doing the driving.

I really appreciate all the answers and offers. I'll be up that way on the 19th moving him into his dorm. And that leads me to another question.... Somewhere good to eat?? I've only eaten fast food and a place called bee gees while up that way.

Good ol' Snead State. Met my wife there nearly twenties years ago in Mr. Johnson's chemistry class. Guessin he ain't there no more. I've always liked Pasqualies for lunch. It's out on 431 just a little south of McDonalds.

Bee Gee's is good. They have great Chicken fingers. Try Maters Pizza in downtown Albertville. It's a little pricier than Pizza Hut but worth it. King Pollo (mexican), across the road from Maters ain't bad either.

Itll take you about 20 minutes to get there, but if youll take the main road through the college (168) going southitll dead end into 75 in Douglas. Take a left and thatll take you to Sneads Cross Roads. Turn left at the intersection and theres a good little BBQ place about a mile on your left.

I forgot Mill Street Deli. Good food, good prices, and quick service. Not bad on the billfold either.

We used to eat at Pasquales fairly often, but the last few times they seemed to have lowered the bar a little.

I'm not a huge fan of the buffet, but their calzones are top notch.
