Several PM's wanting to know about the choke. I'm going to have to measure it. Nothing on the gun to indicate the choke.

Old standard weight gun. Look on the barrel for stars and dashes. Post up the sequence, we can figure the choke out. Post the serial # and we can pin down the year of manufacture also. I'm gonna guess late 40's.

for 400$ i cant believe that the browning collectors are worried about what barrel is on it. sounds like a good price from what I've seen on here.

Barrel measures around .700 ID To me that would be a modified, but this is old school.
No markings that I can see on the barrel to indicate choke. There are two ** in front of 12 gauge imprinted on the barrel. That seems to confirm modified to me, but I just don't know.

Two asterisks means modified.
