The problem is that there hasn't been a sighting of this snake in over thirty years on this land, if at all. There are occasional sandy ridges with some remnant Longleaf, but not in pure stands. The majority of this land is loamy with a clay base and will grow Loblolly extremely well.
So...now the government tells them they have to limit site preparation methods, have influence on their burn regime, and possibly dictate what species they grow and for how long. I would kick the government off of my land too ! This is extreme government over-reach....no hollow reason about it !
