Has anyone ever fished it? If so is there any catfish in it?

At one time they had posted some high levels of sewage in the lake, and advised not to consume some of the fish. I cant find the article on which species. We go over to lake Frank Jackson in Opp, the catfishing is pretty good and taste good also.

I have been fishing pea river n elba but there aint much water there since the dam blew out. Been trying to find somewhere close by to catfish. Ive been to opp a few time and havent caught much and they close at dark.

I live pretty close to ballard bridge in the basin community on parkers fox run road. We fish below the dam, well from about pocket branch to the dam. The catfishing is hot right now we set out bush hooks this past week and wound up with 65. If you like to night fish for cats rent a camp site at opp and you can fish all night. If the camp ground has several campers there fish around the campground they all feed the fish and it holds a lot of catfish

Is the water high enough on the river to run a 16' stick steer

I will find out Wednesday. My son and I will be putting in at Kinston and running up hopefully. It has come down a few feet over the last week but we run my 15.5ft custom built with 40hp Yamaha stick steering then and gonna try Wednesday. Just gotta be careful and not stump it.
