I was kind of thinking the same thing. We’re talking about just finishing it off so it may work just fine. I was doing some reading and it seems like the question of .223 for deer hunting is a pretty debated topic. It sounded like bullet selection was a key. Certain bullets penetrated well and others exploded after a few inches. I don’t know much of crap about AR’s. It looks like if you step up from a .223 then you go to a 6.5 or a 25 WSSM.
