At 30 feet they could have taken it out with 00 buckshot.

Things are shaping up for an "incident" before next January.

Character is not developed in moments of temptation and trial. That is when it is intended to be used.

The plane in that picture was more than likely 200'-300' from that ship. Half the wing span is almost 24'- 25' at the wing swept he is at. If he had been at 30' or so he would have been a lottt closer looking. And yes, if that ship wanted to put the sting on that Russian hunk of junk, they could have any time.

Indeed they were. That's why I think they were the best Thunderbirds. Big airplane with two engines and lots of noise!

Love the T-birds in the Phantom.
I'll give you a four ship flyby in F-111's with all Eight burners in zone five if you want a little noise.
The Russian boys might have had some "music gathering devices" on board. I flew F-111 and EF-111 for a while.

I wonder if they have some sort of super-wammer-dyne magnetoelectronic jammer that could be aimed at aircraft like that.

.... like they just mysteriously fall into the ocean after passing close. Of course maybe the Russians were trying to see if we had sooemthing of the sort and we're just Kamkazing that pilot.

No doubt! The T-Birds were awe-inspiring in the Phantoms!...always seemed to me like they did their shows faster back then, too. You'd think the nimble little Falcons would look faster than the big F-4's, but it seemed like the Phantom's show was a little more exciting. I've watched the T-Birds in every ship since the F-l00's...The Floods and Thuds were unpainted, and they shined like new money!
