What do you guys use for tick control besides that damn permithian? I sprayed two sets of my clothes with that chit earlier in the year. I have been tore up with the worst skin rash I've ever had. From my stomach to my ankles is one big rash. I wouldn't wish this shit on my worst enemy.

Had it ever bothered anybody else on here? I'll pick ticks off everyday before I wear that stuff again. I washed my clothes 4 times this week and thought I would be alright yesterday, but it's still on my clothes or just aggravated what was already on my skin.

I use REPEL SPORTSMAN MAX w/ 40% deet in the green spray/pump bottle. I make sure to spray around my waist, ankles, wrist and neck before I get dressed. Once dressed, I spray areas they would get in under my clothes. If it's an all day hunt, I spray again about midday. I'm not saying it's the best but it works for me.

Teaspoon of vinegar a day works. Takes about two weeks to build up in your system

I have never heard of this before. I have drank Apple Cider Vinegar when my hip joint used to ache from arthritis years ago, but never pure vinegar. Tell me some more about this. I will give it a try, just need to know what all to do now that it is not April Fools Day.

I use permethrin now, but used to do the vinegar thing. Apple cider will work too I believe. Think it builds up in your system and ticks don't like it. Not real sure at the science behind it.

Here's a link on spraying it on dogs, when I googled it, there were several remedies where you put vinegar in dogs water to keep ticks off, guess it works on humans too

Heavy dose of permethrin on my clothes, cap and boot tops, Repel 40% deet on exposed skin. Haven't had one so far.

Permetherin works for everybody I know. I'll never spray it anywhere near me again. I've never had a rash or itched this bad in my life. Finally got about 3 hours of sleep last night before I was up and in the shower again. I'll pick ticks off before i use it again. I'm going back to deet and spraying everyday. Don't think I'll need it in the morning tho.

Just my two cents but I would advise you make sure it is the permethrin that is causing the rash. Simple way to tell is to rub some on a small amount of your skin and see if that specific area gets inflamed. This time of year poison ivy and scabies are very common and would hate for you to think you were allergic to something when you're really not.

That sounds like a classic chigger attack!

X2.

Also have you tried spraying your clothes down real good, letting them dry, then washing them? Permethrin will last through a wash or two and that could possibly cut out the irritation some

I'll try a small spot to see but I wore them opening day and broke out a little but didn't think much about it. The next day I hunted a broke out a little worse. I came home and washed them twice and wore them Wednesday and I was eat up when I got home.
