Love my Ranger. Know that it is heavy. If you get it stuck, it's not a one or two man job getting it out. When I'd get stuck with my atv, I could usually get it out myself, maybe with one other guy. The Utv requires a bunch of pulling and pushing, sometimes with large implements, tractor or otherwise.

Dr. B Yes, this is true. But they are remarkably buoyant. Don't ask me how I know. And, no matter how much the guy that is now standing in a crouched position on the back seat of said Ranger to keep his whole lower torso from getting wet is encouraging you by shouting, "These Rangers are made for this!!!!"; they will not...I repeat, they will not, make it for over a 1/2 mile of windshield deep water. The belt housing will fill up with water and leave you stranded as your Ranger makes a putt-putt....putt...noise and dies...and then bobs back and forth, taunting you like a slip cork for crappie, before finally settling on all four tires. There is also a story of our very own Southwood claiming he had hypothermia because of said incident, despite the fact that this happened on a balmy Mississippi afternoon, but I digress. That's a story for another time.
Ya'll are just overthinking it now

I just bought a Honda Pioneer 700 in MS last weekend. Did research for several months before settling on the Pioneer. The transmission and not having a belt was the biggest seller to me.
It will do about 40 MPH which is plenty fast. I'm not much on raising hell in one, so I went with the Pioneer, it is geared more towards work/hunting.
If you want one to play and work in, I would suggest the Yamaha Wolverine or the Kawasaki Teryx. They are more of a go between for the work/play category.
I called Southern Honda and Lake Hill in Corinth.....I called several places around Alabama as well. Closest price I got was $1000 more in Alabama. Spent $80 in gas to go to Corinth and purchase.
$9800 out the door.

I may be in the market for a new ATV in the next few years. That Honda Pioneer looks really good and has the footprint of a regular ATV so it can still fit into tight spaces. I may have to check it out.

After having a Suzuki Carry now for a few years, I couldnt imagine having anything different. I love mine. It's got an enclosed cab with heat..that means dry and warm. Its a gas engine that's dang near silent too. I drive mine right to the stand and bury it in the bushes. The bed is enormous for something like this and will haul multiple deer, people, and gear.

How much did ya'll pay for your ranger's? Ball park. 2015 900xp with power steering. 11,700 out the door. When comparing prices....polaris has many different features for the same model. With or without power steering, base model, le model, deluxe model, mid size, full size, 570, and 900. When I priced mine a place in birmingham wanted $3500 more for the same thing. Three of the best priced polaris dealers in the southeast are in alabama. The main difference is the tax rate you will pay 2% vs 3.5%. I'm very happy with my ranger. I can't speak for the other brands because I haven't owned them.

I'm not saying I wouldn't shop around, but I have a 07 500 (full size) ranger 4x4 that I love. Never touched the belt either.

I had thought about looking at one, I know the tractors are good just have not heard anything on their UTV's I looked at them, but comparing apples to apples, it looks like you will spend a couple thousand over the same UTV in a Honda/Polaris/Yamaha.
