When my Daddy and the men he hung with were on this earth this type of schit would NEVER happen. It never would have gotten this far but if by some unfathomable means it did, the DA would be drug out of his house and possibly killed. The rise of liberalism that WE have allowed is where all this current BS is rooted and WE have nobody to blame but ourselves. I keep thinking that the day will come when we man up and stop it but now I've lost almost all hope. I have always believed vigilantism has a time and place and somehow we've collectively missed the call all over this country.
AND, there's no better place than Montgomery to end the looting and burning when it starts by armed property owners giving fair warning to stay the Hell away or die. Killing on site, the ones that ignore the law when and start looting would go a long way to setting things right. Pile 'em up. It might also be the trigger that ignites nationwide violence and trigger Obama's perfect storm for Martial Law but if it does I will know that I'm still here and able to contribute where necessary to protect my son and his family and their rights under the constitution. I worry that if things continue to trickle down a bad path that I'll be gone from this earth when the fight starts and won't be here to help.

Heard some details today on the incident. I won't go into many details as that is not my place to do that, but I will say that if what I'm told is true, there is no doubt this officer is being offered up as a sacrifice to appease the BLM crowd. The investigating agency (ABI) wanted to take the case to the Grand Jury, but the local DA is the one that insisted on an arrest.
There is a great size difference between the two with the officer being much smaller.
The man was not walking home from work or his girlfriend's at 3AM. He had been at a shot house playing cards.
The officer had exhausted all his means of non lethal force (taser and pepper spray) and for lack of a better term, had gotten his ass whipped and was lying on the ground when the man ran on a porch and retrieved a metal paint roller extension pole and was coming back to the officer. The officer shot him 5 times, which is probably the justification for the charge. (overkill).
No video as the vidmic's battery was dead. The mayor acknowledges that he could have gotten the camera batteries with a longer life but he went the cheap route.
It will all come out in the end. I hope justice is served and political pressure or threats of riots are not a part of the final decision. It doesn't matter if the victim had been at a shot house playing cards. He had a right to. And a right to walk down his own street to go to his own home. The cop should have never got out of his car. The cop should have never STARTED a fight with the man. The cop should have never laid hands on the man. The cop violated the CONSTITUTION by laying hands on the man and trying to make an ILLEGAL arrest of the man. The cop was immature, inexperienced and poorly trained. The cop didn't know what the law is about probable cause to make an arrest (hint: you have to have a crime!)(witnessed by the cop). Yeah, we don't know all the facts yet, but we do know the COP started the entire incident. The police chief stated repeatedly that there was "a small altercation and that Mr. Gunn RAN AWAY." The COP started the altercation. If he was a mature, responsible well trained cop who knew the law this never would have happened. The DA did the right thing - from numerous different perspectives - including the fact that if there had been no cop involved the shooter would have been arrested on a murder charge. And arresting the cop now actually might be something that saves his life in the mean time with all the BLM insane thug vigilantes out there.

[quote=jawbone The big hope is that the blm movement pretty much dies out by then and the DA hopes he's gotten his appointment to a federal judgeship from Hillary before then. [/quote]
We agree on most thing Jawbone, but have to tell you that is a crock of bull. The local DA has only occupied the spot for a short time and is not anywhere near federal judge material, and there is no way he would ever be considered as a candidate for a federal judgeship. And he knows that. And he knows that he is at the top public position that he will ever occupy. And he is a very decent man too btw.
He is Democrat in name only - because Dems are the majority in Montgomery County. He did the right thing by charging the police officer. If he had failed to do so he would be shirking his responsibility.

Can I come beat on you with a pole? you gonna lay there and let me? Or are you going to shoot me when I try? bet I know the answer. Damn man..do the job for a freakin week and get off the BLM bandwagon condemning these officers that for some reason..when the truth comes out turn out to be freakin innocent. Whats with your anti police sentiment? These guys do a thankless job for low pay risking their asses so you can rest safely in your home. Give it a break. Im so fed up with this anti police bs then the cops turns out to be trying just to save his dam life. I got an idea..why dont you go patrol montgomery at 230 am. Then..and only then will your opinion matter to me.

Can a cop not question a guy what he's doing out at 3am? I hope one would in my neighborhood. The Supreme Court says he can and can even pat him down for weapons if there is a reasonable suspicion that he may be armed, but I don't know if that happened, all I know is the officer was going to conduct a field interview @ 3AM in an area he was assigned to conduct an extra patrol due to a rash of recent burglaries.

Can a cop not question a guy what he's doing out at 3am? I hope one would in my neighborhood. Pretty sure they can question you if they want. I'm not sure they can detain you without cause. Can you refuse to answer the police and keep on walking? Or do you have to comply if an officer tells you to come talk to him?

There had been 28 reported burglaries in that neighborhood in the weeks preceding. There had been requests from the neighborhood for increased and special patrols. A patrolman who did not stop and talk to Gunn would have his professionalism questioned as well. Those guys are in a no win situation.

No, you don't have to stop and answer questions and they would have to have probable cause that a crime was committed and you committed it to detain you. So Gunn, for instance, could have just kept on walking and the office shouldn't go after him without probable cause. I guess the big question is what would constitute probable cause.

If they were trying to appease the blm crowd with an arrest, and he winds up being found not guilty, it is probably going to be even worse The big hope is that the blm movement pretty much dies out by then and the DA hopes he's gotten his appointment to a federal judgeship from Hillary before then. I agree he was not thinking big picture, just keeping it calm for the moment and be seen as a hero for keeping the city from burning (for the time being). That's exactly why I posted what I did yesterday. The DA of Montgomery county has a political agenda and saw an opportunity to get some TV time and throw the white officer to the blm lynch crowd.
