I've never owned one heck I've never even shot one but I've always thought they looked like a piece of history. They just look like they belong in a gun rack at an hunters camp with old men wearing flannel shirts playing cards with a fire burning in a wood burning stove.

We will burn that bridge when we get there

I got a 12,16,and a 20 all Belgium
I still hunt from time to time with all 3 and the humpback design is by far the best pointing gun ever produced. When you throw it to shoulder you are looking directly down the barrel every time. I've shot a many of 6 bird duck limits with my 12 and the guys I was with couldn't believe I was out shooting them with my little old 2 3/4 nazi gun!!!!

I used to quail hunt with a guy that had one in 20 Guage. It was beautiful and he said it had a pecan wood stock. Is there a way to tell if it's walnut or pecan?

central ala,
I have an A5 and a Remington Model 11 in 20 ga. If FN and Savage would have made it in 20 ga. I would have them also. Still may get one of each in 12 ga.

Got a 12 that was my Dad's (he passed in 1981) and a Sweet 16 my parents bought for me when I was 11. Both are Belgium...the 12 was made in 1961 and the 16 in 1967. Still hunt with them every now and then.

My grandfather left me one when he passed away. He passed in '91 and the gun was 30 years old then. I shot it some back then but now it remains in the case. Its an heirloom now.

I have a 90's era a5 stalker composite 12 gauge which was my first duck gun. Great shotgun but I retired it when I bought my gas gold hunter. A5 is a classic but prefer gas to inertia. Pain in neck remembering what rings to use for 3" versus light loads. Gas is so much easier to deal with. Point & shoot.

I have the 12 and 20 gauge Belgium made that my father in law gave me. They are pre WW2 models. I don't shoot them but I love to look at them and wonder about all the great days afield they have spent.

If I remember correctly, which my memory ain't too good, if it's WWII or before its either a Remington or FN. After WWII Is when Brownings came out. The Savage (model 720 I believe) was thrown in there at some point. John Browning was the designer and sold the patent or what ever it was back then to the other companies before Browning started production. Once again, that's off memory and I really don't remember what I had for supper last night.

central ala,
Once again, going off memory. The A5 we know had a rough time. Browning designed it in the late 1800's. Took it to Winchester and they told him his gun was UGLY!! Browning was going to meet with Remington but the guy died or got killed. That's when Browning turned to FN (Fabrique Nationale) in Belgium. Seems like the war (WWI) forced it back to the US for production by Remington. Remingtons were made until after WWII before the first gun with "BROWNING" on it was made.

My stepdad has one, he had( Sent to Browning) refinished around 28 years ago. That old gun is still in the factory box/packaging under his bed lol..

Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many!

Got a A5 12 and the Savage copycat. I use to dog hunt with the Browning it shot buckshot good. Kick the living crap out of you but tight pattern. The savage was my bird gun. I just shot that A5 yesterday to shoot air holes in some burn barrels. Still shoots buckshot good. Lol

I have a Belgium and a Jap. They kill turkeys about the same.
